As patients and families work through the challenges of end-of-life, a specially-trained OhioHealth Hospice Chaplain like Jackie Nehls is there to provide non-judgmental and respectful spiritual support. Through encouragement and affirmation, she cares for the people who sometimes need it most—the caregivers themselves.

After the life of Corinne’s daughter was tragically cut short at the hands of an intoxicated driver, Corinne turned to the bereavement experts at OhioHealth for support. Guiding her through the stages of the grieving process, these caring experts understood her grief and helped provide the strength needed to carry on.
Janet was uncertain about seeking hospice care for her mother, but she will always be thankful that she did. The members of the OhioHealth Hospice team became a part of her family, bringing comfort, care and coping tools—and giving Janet more time to enjoy her mother’s precious final months.
When her husband was admitted to OhioHealth Hospice, Teri experienced the caring, nurturing support of the entire hospice team who was 100% dedicated to her husband’s comfort - and to keeping her informed about what to expect. After his death, Teri was amazed by the level of bereavement support she received from OhioHealth Hospice. The yoga and art therapy groups gave her the perfect balance of discussion and peace that she needed to move forward.
When Marilyn’s husband was brought to OhioHealth Kobacker House, it was a blessing to see that the Hospice team could immediately provide the care he needed to be comfortable. A strong believer in first impressions, Marilyn was amazed by the support and comfort hospice provided her.

Joyce Eubanks’ Story
Joyce Eubanks has been a valued volunteer at OhioHealth Hospice for 20 years. She brings joy and liveliness to patients, allowing them to feel completely at ease, if only for a moment. Wanting people to pass away with dignity comes from personal experience—dealing with her own father’s death in hospice care.
