Patients and Visitors Guide for Mansfield Hospital
We are committed to meeting the needs of patients and visitors.
We realize being away from home, either as a patient or a visitor at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, can be overwhelming. From our nationally recognized healthcare providers to our pastoral care services to our wayfinding volunteers, we strive to meet your every need and give you the peace of mind of knowing you’re in the best possible hands.
We understand the importance of family and friends to your recovery. General visiting hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., but vary in some units based on your condition or needs.
Families should speak to their loved one’s nurse to determine the most appropriate visitation schedule. In consideration of other patients, we ask that you limit visitors to two at a time. Children are permitted as visitors, but must be under adult supervision at all times.
Smoking is not permitted inside or outside any OhioHealth hospital.
Pastoral Care and Chapel Hours
Being in the hospital can be stressful to you, your family and your friends. Members from various religions are available to provide spiritual help to you and your family. If you want to be visited by the hospital chaplain, call (419) 526.8472 or page the chaplain-on-call at (419) 527.5225
Nondenominational worship services are held every Sunday at 11 a.m. in the hospital chapel on the second floor. The chapel is always open.
Calling the RACE Team
The Rapid Additional Clinical Evaluation (RACE) team is available 24-hours-a-day to improve patient outcomes. A family member can request that the nurse initiate a RACE call by dialing “55” from any hospital telephone if there is a serious change or concern to you or a loved one’s condition. Remember, this is an emergency call and should only be made if there is a serious change.
Social Work Services
A social worker may be assigned to you during your hospital stay. If necessary, the social worker will arrange appropriate post-hospital care with a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or intermediate nursing facility, home care, medical equipment and supplies as needed. The social worker can also provide counseling for you and your family as you adjust to your illness, injury, or change in medical condition. You can request to see a social worker through your nurse or by calling (419) 526.8640.
Housekeeping and Environmental Services
Housekeeping is about more than just cleanliness. It’s our opportunity to make a first and lasting impression during your visit. Comfort and safety are a signature part of your healthcare at Mansfield Hospital. Your room will be cleaned daily throughout your stay. Please speak with your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns.
