Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship - Grant Medical Center
We prepare our fellows for lifelong careers in the surgical treatment of trauma patients.
OhioHealth Grant Medical Center offers a one-year fellowship in the evaluation and management of orthopedic trauma and critically ill patients. Our fellows are involved throughout all aspects of patient care and treatment alongside our expert orthopedic trauma physicians. Nationally, we have been recognized as the fifth busiest Level 1 trauma center. The fellowship is available to candidates who have completed a residency and are board-eligible physicians.

We set our fellows up for success to practice independently.
Our program is designed to build on the foundational skills established in residency. From complex pelvic and acetabular fractures to limb reconstruction to joint replacements, our fellows will practice alongside our team of highly skilled physicians using progressive instrumentation and techniques to evaluate and treat complex orthopedic injuries and conditions in a variety of clinical settings.
Fellows will receive unparalleled support to perform clinical research and prepare manuscripts suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Fellows will also gain access to our Orthobullets technology, a personalized adaptive learning system and collaboration community.

- Scholarly Activities
We have full-time, dedicated faculty members who are available to provide support and guidance for fellows on their research and quality improvement projects. Fellows will have the opportunities to participate in the below scholarly activities:
- Weekly lectures, conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, surgical grand rounds and journal clubs.
- IRB approved research projects leading to presentation and/or publication.
- Submission of a manuscript for publication in a peer review journal.
- Access to shared databases through the staffed library.
- Rotation Opportunities
You’ll get the opportunity to practice in Grant Medical Center's 49-critical care licensed bed teaching hospital, ranked the busiest adult Level 1 Trauma Center in Ohio by the American College of Surgeons, and other OhioHealth inpatient and outpatient facilities. Grant also serves as a tertiary center for patients in more than 50 counties in Ohio and neighboring states and has over 6,000 trauma visits a year.
