CLINIC DAY

During your residency, you’ll participate in a clinic day for half a day each week during most rotations. You will perform pre-assessment testing exams on patients who are having surgery at Doctors Hospital. You’ll also learn the best approaches for preparing patients to ensure a successful surgery. Your process will include taking detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations.

Clinic day strengthens your ability to identify disease states that increase intra- and post-operative morbidity and mortality. You will learn to reduce those risks by taking certain proactive steps. These include appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests, and physician consultations.
