Cardiac Imaging at OhioHealth

We provide more accurate diagnoses with advanced technology and techniques.

Cardiac imaging tests give physicians an inside view of the heart and vascular system. This helps them evaluate the structure, function or damage to the heart, as well as plan and guide catheter-based procedures. Using the images gathered from the tests, our cardiac imaging physicians work together with our other cardiovascular experts to make an accurate diagnosis and determine the best treatment for you.

Advanced Cardiac Imaging

We use the latest, most sophisticated imaging technology. This allows us to achieve more detailed images of the heart and vascular system, reduce the time each test takes and minimize radiation exposure.

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CVMR) — advanced imaging used to analyze the structure of the heart

We offer CVMR, a noninvasive scan that produces high quality, detailed images that help determine your diagnosis and treatment. Unique at OhioHealth Westerville Medical Campus and OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, every CVMR scan is read and interpreted by cardiologists who are experienced cardiac imaging experts.

Calcium Coronary Scoring — a scan for you if you’re at risk but have no symptoms

If you have a family history or are at risk for heart disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.), yet you have no symptoms, OhioHealth offers calcium coronary scoring — a low-radiation heart scan for people older than 40. The heart scan screens for early plaque in arteries.

Cardiac Positron Emission Tomography (Cardiac PET) — a noninvasive test that provides highly detailed images of your heart and blood flow

A highly accurate, noninvasive, nuclear imaging test, a cardiac PET scan can be used to diagnose coronary artery disease and detect areas of low blood flow in the heart. It can also be used to determine heart function and damage after a heart event. For the test, a small amount of radioactive solution is injected into your blood stream and a scan is taken of your heart, giving physicians highly detailed images of your heart and blood flow.
